Let’s paint
I used to be so nervous to paint my apartment. Colored walls always reminded me of a fourth grader’s neon purple walls, great vibe for then! But then you're stuck with it because your parents won't let you paint again… So I also believed white walls were a better decision. But painting an outdated apartment can completely transform the space. You don't need to paint any rooms, but let me at least convince you to paint one room. It can even be your small bathroom! But it can add so much life back into your space.
The best way to start with painting is to paint your outdated bathroom! It is the smallest room and can be a fun weekend project. Painting this a moody color can add depth to your space. Paint the ceiling too! This will color-drench the room and help fit the character of the older bathroom.
Here are two examples of entryways that are painted in an apartment. The blue is color-drenched, and the green has a darker trim. An easier way to execute this in your own space is by keeping the trim white.
If you are liking the paint so far.. I encourage you to consider painting your bedroom! Again, the color will leave the walls with a feeling of character! I know a lot of people gravitate towards filling their rooms with gallery walls … to me, this will just look so cluttered. A good paint color can add so much character to your space! And it is not too expensive.
Finally, if painting the whole room still feels daunting, a unique option is to paint just the ceiling in your bedroom. This can give your room a unique height and draw your eye-line to a new perspective in the space.
